Meet Our New Communications Team

By Ronaleen R. Roha

“I am pleased to announce that Phi Beta Kappa has attracted two skilled and enthusiastic people to staff our new communications team, Selby Frame, as communications manager, and Amanda DiMartini, as social media specialist,” said ΦBK Secretary John Churchill. “Frame and DiMartini will increase ΦBK’s public visibility. They will develop stories and other engaging content that will connect you with our programs, the liberal arts and sciences, and other members in a fresh and creative way,” he said.

Selby Frame is a seasoned communications professional with a background in journalism, advertising, marketing, and public relations. She served for nearly a decade as associate director for academic communications at Bowdoin College. There she significantly raised the national profile of the academic program and faculty. Most recently, she was assistant commercial editor for the American Association for the Advancement of Science, where she oversaw all marketing communications for five academic journals and a large, worldwide membership.

“It is a writer’s dream to have access to the bright, fascinating people that compose the ΦBK community,” said Frame. “They are inspiring examples of the power of a liberal arts education, and I welcome the challenge of telling their stories more widely.”

Amanda DiMartini previously served as the ticketing and marketing coordinator for Washington Performing Arts, a nationally recognized arts organization. Her duties included working with grassroots marketing initiatives and assisting with social media management. She has been the social media manager for the DC Area Phi Beta Kappa Association for more than two years. DiMartini is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, from Denison University, graduating with theatre and communication majors.

“I am thrilled to join the Society’s national office, and I look forward to finding new ways to engage and connect with our members about the value of the liberal arts and sciences in our day-to-day lives,” said DiMartini.
