Reception Showcases Nashville Enthusiasm

By Ann McCulloch

What happens when you invite Nashville area Phi Beta Kappa members to a meet-and-greet reception at an emerging venue for wine and music? You enjoy a wonderful evening of friendship and fellowship!

On August 17, the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Nashville and the Phi Beta Kappa Society national office hosted a well-attended event at City Winery, one of the city’s newest entertainment destinations. Nearly forty Phi Beta Kappa members enjoyed food, wine, and conversation about how local members can become more involved in the Nashville Association.

Association leaders welcomed the group’s mix of professions and ages. Many young professionals engaged with association veterans about future programs that will take advantage of the city’s many cultural opportunities and appeal to a wide cross-section of interests.

“The energy and level of enthusiasm exceeded our expectations,” says Nashville Association President Mimi Klein. “The reception was a huge success and we look forward to taking that energy and making plans for 2015 and beyond.”
