The coronavirus pandemic has necessitated rapid changes on our campuses and in our communities, and Phi Beta Kappa is responding to the complex issues facing our chapters and the students invited to become members of Phi Beta Kappa this spring.
All across the nation college students have been meeting virtually on Zoom and other platforms for their coursework. For the graduating class of 2020, Phi Beta Kappa’s chapters have similarly adapted to the new realities facing higher education.
With additional resources and guidance from the national office, our chapters are taking their induction ceremonies online this commencement season. Some of these virtual induction ceremonies have been recorded and are available below.
In this time of great uncertainty, we know that Phi Beta Kappa will remain a source of lasting honor and pride, especially for our newest members.

The Society is committed, first and foremost, to the health and safety of our many volunteers and the students they work so hard to induct. Neither an in-person nor a virtual ceremony is required this spring — students are considered full Phi Beta Kappa members as soon as chapters validate their memberships online with the national office in Washington, D.C.
