Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholars travel to more than 100 colleges and universities each year, spending two days on each campus and taking full part in the academic life of the institution. They meet informally with students and faculty members, participate in classroom discussions and seminars, and give a public lecture open to the academic community and the general public. In the last 70 years, over 800 Visiting Scholars have made over 6,000 visits to Phi Beta Kappa sheltering institutions. As Phi Beta Kappa celebrates its 250th anniversary this year, we are excited to recognize this milestone of championing education in the arts and sciences, fostering freedom of thought, and recognizing academic excellence with a notable group of scholars.

Hadley Kelly is Phi Beta Kappa’s Senior Director of Academic Outreach & Programs.
